I agree with you that it's great that they are opening lines of communication, but I feel like that should have been done as part of a public beta test. It's disappointing to pay full retail price for a game to beta test it, which is arguably what we're doing (same with Civ 5 at launch)...
Try playing domination or on a large map. When you have 15+ cities (or 30 cities in my current game), each with 3 trade routes, having to assign 2-4 trade routes each and every turn, when the list of destinations is huge and unsortable, is absolutely maddening :crazyeye:. As another poster on...
Honestly, I accept them out of laziness :crazyeye:. I don't like "negotiating" with the AI by making a bunch of counteroffers to try to get the most optimal trades possible.
That's a problem I have with Favors as a feature though - since they're essentially worth an amount of Energy, adding...
Great tip for internal trade routes, thanks. Managing trade routes is the most annoying thing in the world for me (I like to play wide with lots of cities and therefore trade routes), so this will help relieve some of the pain.
I feel like the favors system is a great idea but it isn't complex enough yet. Most of the time when I receive favors from the AI, I immediately just cash them in for energy. I don't see the point in waiting, considering that the AI generally hates you more and more over time, so favors...
In my current game, going for a Domination win, I've gone wide focusing on the Might and Prosperity trees and it's felt impossible to keep health up, even though I've prioritized health buildings and health techs. So at around -40 health I finally gave up on even bothering to get my health up...
Without using any flagrant exploits in BE, which Civ 5 difficulty would Apollo be closest to? On release date, people seemed to be comparing Apollo to Immortal, but now it seems like it may actually be easier than Immortal.
I bought it but regret getting it so early. I think it has the potential to be a great game, but it currently has some pretty big flaws and missing features/content.
My favorite way to play - 22ish civs, huge map, domination only, isn't possible because there are only 8 factions, and because...
One positive change about trade routes: I think I've observed that if you trade with someone and war is declared, your trade caravan/vessels survive and you can reassign them. In Civ 5 they would automatically die.
There could also be an option to have your trade route(s) automatically select the most advantageous option. For example, the trade route offering you the most benefits (assuming science and gold are equally beneficial) would be automatically selected. This would make wide empires much more...
Obvious ones:
- Trade routes: Assigning them is too tedious. I tried playing a wide empire for a domination victory, and the tedium was excruciating.
- Miasma: Too hard to see.
5/10. It feels like a beta test. I'm tired of games being released in this sort of state. I understand the business need of having to get the game out ahead of the holiday season, but the game feels rushed.
I've won science victories on Immortal and Deity without building the GL. I don't think it's a big loss. It's nice to have, but far from being necessary for any victory type and any difficulty mode. Aim to get your National College ASAP and you'll be fine for science. Also, consider...
