I'm the original poster and I am happy to say that I have resolved my issues by re-installing the lastest drivers for my Geforce 6600GT. I also updated my nForce drivers and banned PC-Cillin from my system. I have been playing for 2 hours now and everything works and looks great!!!

After installing the game without any problems, I can get the game maybe one in three times to run properly without any errors. However, some issues seem to be persistent. My "Play" and "Install" disks are both mislabled - the "Play" disk is the "Install" disk and vice versa. I bet Firaxis/Take2 is not really happy with the manufacturer right now at all.
