This right here. From the numbers on the poll we had, most people here play with extended ages. I recommend turning it off, even for just one game. You might enjoy the extra pressure and decision making, I know I did.

Generally in my experience commanders can take 2-3 hits from enemy units, depending on tier for the age. I don't think this scales until age transition. I have never tried old guard promotion, so I always try to end my commanders turn on the same tile as a unit if I think they're going to get...

You can hit the next unit/next turn button on PC which defaults to E.
I'm really curious how your game is set up because mine autoselects the next unit and zooms to it no matter what options I select. Drives me crazy.
What if there were a fourth age and you were actually building towards it in modern? I actually want this to make modern matter and just have the 4th age same civ victory rush.
