I am mainly excited to see them address the fact that tourism did nothing besides the CV, but I would have liked to see tourism effects start even earlier than full cultural domination.
The individual balance between different Civs I personally do not care that much about. I play Civ as a...
It's a bit disappointing, but this is fortunately one of the areas where mods can deliver incredible value to a game.
I would love to see cultural variants of all units throughout the whole span of the game (come on, Mayan/Aztec giant death robots!), but I can also understand that this is a...
It's a pretty reasonable suggestion, however they would need to tinker with the way spawns work then, otherwise spawning in the middle of a dense rainforest area without any bananas would a complete game over from the get go.
It also let's you configure a package of mods to load the game with, i.e. do you wish to launch the normal game, or your modded total conversions, etc.
Launchers are usually there to promote DLC or additional content that's for sale.
Now why would 2K bother to put out a fresh new launcher out of the blue? Are they planning to promote some new Civ content soon?
The additional units are a really welcome addition. I have been using the Steel and Thunder mod more or less religiously so I've enjoyed comparable units for a long time anyway.
I hope if they do another set of patches they would add a set of medieval ships as well. Since they even emphasised...
I think the biggest problem right now is the AI not improving their luxuries. This makes them incredibly susceptible to monopolies. If the AI was behaving rationally I don't think the monopoly bonuses would be too outrageous, unless you thought very hard to really completely corner the market on...
I'm going to throw out a wild idea. What if Civ 7 is a standalone expansion to Civ 6? Basically you get new gameplay rules, but import all the gameplay content of 6 (leaders/Civs). It's been working remarkably well for the Total Warhammer games...
No it doesn't. I do not think it's accurate to say that Civ 6's gameplay suffers from political correctness. I don't even know what that means. You can't declare war on a female leader until you've declared an equal amount of wars against male leaders?
You can argue that, sure.
All I'm saying is that many other historical strategy/grand strategy games on the market have much more overt references these things :dunno:
It creates a specific kind of atmosphere and tone, more towards realism (even if the game mechanics themselves are unrealistic).
