I just re-ran the DLC update, and all DLC is now showing up under "Installed" and seems available when creating a game. Looks like they fixed it.

Considering that updates on the app store need to be approved by Apple's system first...

Warning: a bunch of people over on reddit (including me) had all their DLC made unavailable by the update, and are stuck in an endless “update your DLC” loop. Also warning: installing Gathering Storm will disable large and huge maps on some supported devices (e.g. the 2018 iPad).

You're right, they haven't. I upped the difficulty again for my second game because I just steamrolled the entire map with Hungary in the previous one, despite having played at a higher difficulty than I used to. And while the AI has a better starting position thanks to the bonus stuff it gets...

But they don't. Civ V was considered great among "fanatics" not when development was finished after two expansions, but after a small army of unpaid modders fixed it. Firaxis and 2k have zero incentive to invest the resources necessary to produce a polished game if people are buying their stuff...

I know you're not going to see it, but this kind of attitude is exactly why big corporations get away with so much crap in gaming. Why do you feel the need to defend 2k games? It's not Firaxis that's raking in the money from your purchase. The devs get paid a salary, they don't own the...

Ugh. I just can't anymore. I bought BE on day one, I bought BE:RT sight unseen. I bought Civ VI without even thinking about it, and I bought every piece of DLC for Civ VI (except the viking scenario pack). I got hyped for a moment by the Expansion, but then I started a new game in celebration...

I'm not saying this means anything, but you may want to consider that since the 64-Bit "Appocalypse" on iOS, the CivRev games no longer work on updated devices. I.e. there currently is no mobile Civ game (don't know about Android, but that's not a big market for premium games anyway). Remember...

That's actually quite beautiful. What map size is this? Also, while we are talking maps, is there anything akin to V's Terra map yet, where all civs start on one continent?

So yesterday I reinstalled Civ V (with community patch) and started playing a game on a continents map. I had completely forgotten how much better the map scripts in that game are compared to VI. And I don't think the CP changes the map scripts. There were forest areas, vast plains, and deserts...

OP said he doesn't enjoy having to manage the religious game. To which you basically answered "just manage the religious game, dude". Is it really that hard to understand that some people don't enjoy that aspect of the game? It's not that they are too dumb to deal with, they just don't want to.

I normally turn it off. Just left it on after the winter patch to see what a standard game looks like. I just steamrolled Japan in a holy war, pillaging every single holy site in his empire, buildings and district. I graciously return his cities afterwards to avoid warmonger penalties and what...

w Which then makes you a warmonger and gets you denounced by most other civilizations in the game. The combination of agendas, the religion mechanic and the warmongering penalties feels entirely incompatible to me.

We are discussing the state of the unmodded game. I'm well aware that it can be modded.
