p4 2.4G 80g hard disk 420 geforce4 64bit- 480mb ram never crashes the game runs fine intro is laggy and the game gets slower as it progresses (huge maps are slower)

alright here is my situation. this is my specs- p4 with 2.4G 480mb ram. geforce4mx420 grap card 64bit. i bought civ 4 installed it it was working but the intro was so slow, and the 2nd intro loading the game sound was laggy... when it was finished loading the map was black but...
