I for one am not good enough to play on Diety. I got swarmed on the last Emperor challenge, and found the King one a struggle and quit. I am all for giving people a variety of different ones, but the Diety ones are not going to be as well attended because, well, they are hard.

Just did a Boudaccia cultural, and got Longest Name Ever (more like longest Game ever.) This looks good though; after moving warrior one to the se i'd probably settle on that hill as mentioned. Celidh Halls are the bomb.

You can't raze cities you've settled, and you can't raze enemy Capitals. Otherwise, burn away.

I don't know for sure but I think you may be overly worried if they get to a new era ahead of you. They may be beelining for a tech, but that doesn't mean they have all the techs by any means. Try putting the score list up, the option is in a menu somewhere, and see if you are really falling...

Imo, in king, it's hard to win before they get nukes. Now, you have to watch your back at all times. In Prince I can usually win just as they are finding the Atomic Era.

I don't know if Tommy is just a voice in the wilderness; some say what he's doing isn't wrong they just choose not to do it themselves. I am in this camp; I'm pretty lazy generally and about the game anyway. That's why I'm not a good player. I could be better if I put my mind to it but I don't...

I don't remember exactly how to do it but I can confirm it's not a mod: I have it too and I have mods disabled because I'm farming acheibments.

This is a fun idea and thank you for your effort. I will abstain as I've played a game as the Mayans recently, am finishing off some acheivements and have no desire to play another game all the way through to 2012 with them again.

I was interested to see I'm not the only one that does this: start many games into turn 200 or so then stop instead of going for the win. I find the initial "what does my homeland look like" phase much more interesting than the "welp, lets send some battleships and destroyers out capital...

I know the game tells you when you've kept your promise not to settle new cities near an AI. I don't know if it does that for spying as well.

You can indeed replace the file in the code; I have no idea how to do it if you're really motivated I'm sure you can google it.
