    Having graphics issues

Have you tried going to nvidia.com and just downloading a new driver directly instead of going through GFE?

Getting back into Civ - which platform to use?

The Steam client has been updated to 64-bit on the Mac, but you only get it on a brand-new install, they don't push it out as an update to already-installed versions. I'm on the Catalina beta and it works as well as it always does.

    [GS] Sept 10th Patch Bugs

Remember, Mac-specific bugs need to be reported to Aspyr. They convert Firaxis' Windows version to the Mac/Linux/iOS/Switch.

    Humankind Game by Amplitude

Sega and 2K are completely unrelated. Sega sold Visual Concepts to Take-Two, and that was the extent of their interaction.

    civ6 system requirements

Map size and number of active civs seem to be the big factors for RAM usage, and each expansion ups things too. So of course it gets crazy on a huge map. Run a Duel map with 2 civs on base mode (no expansions) and it'll probably fit in 4GB.

[GS] June 2019 Patch notes discussion

Give it a unique name in World Builder in the Map Details window (the button at the upper left opens it, then click the Text tab) and save it. You'll see it in the list of maps when you Create Game right alongside the Firaxis ones.

Will games without the latest expansion ever receive proper balancing?

In the patch notes, anything marked "ALL RULESETS ON PC" means it applies to base and Rise & Fall as well as Gathering Storm.

"ALL RULESETS ON PC" means it applies to base, Rise & Fall, and Gathering Storm on all PC versions (Windows, Mac, and Linux).

    [GS] June 2019 Patch Details

Boris: not true. Civ VI is 64-bit only, there was never a 32-bit version. And Steam for macOS has already been updated (if you reinstall from steampowered.com you get the 64-bit version now). I know, I'm running the Catalina beta, and neither Steam nor Civ have the slash through them (some...

    Restart button mod breaks menu.

The latest Steam version has a restart button built in from Firaxis, so applying that mod probably is a really bad idea :)

    Civ6 for iPad

One of the devs tweeted that it's using Metal for the rendering, so a straight Android port would have to use the GL renderer from the Mac/Linux versions. Also, there aren't many Android tablets with CPUs and GPUs as good as an A8/A9/A10 - the Shield Tablet was competitive, but only 8" and...

    Mac Modding

Yes, mods are compatible across Windows/Mac/Linux. However the tools are typically Windows-only so a copy of something like Parallels or even a full-on Boot Camp setup wouldn't go amiss.

    Music for Civ?

The Firaxis audio programmer (@therealian) posted this today on Twitter. Looks promising, if a bit dense. http://pasted.co/080a8d95

    Help with Soundtrack Modding

The Firaxis audio engineer had another Twitter dump yesterday about soundtracks and custom units, transcribing here: "Some info about #Civ6 music for new civs: if the game doesn't recognize a civ, it'll issue events with the civ's name in them as follows: Start_Music_NAME to force the civ's...

DirectX 11 minimum requirement whining thread (no compatible graphic device)

AAA developers generally set hardware requirements based on the Steam Hardware Survey, since that targets gamers more precisely than any other stats. For November 2016, the SHS says 96.8% of systems have a DX11 (or greater) compliant GPU and Windows 7 or later. It sucks if you're in the...
