the same thing has happened to me, i simply loose interest in continueing the game, and i've played since the first civ.

maybe because those are the UN's goals? the UN is about freedom from slavery, religious percecution, ect. and it strives for equality among all people. If the other civics are your ideal civic, you wouldn't have built the UN in the first place, now would you?

are you kidding me? Piracy is indeed a big problem. on world basis an act of piracy is reported daily, DAILY. last week british sailors called for the UN to create a taskforce to combat piracy, after the "Seabourn Spirit" a cruise ship with 600 passengers was attacked.

thats precicely the reason i dont get why they put both writing and alphabet in the tech tree as different techs. Just doesnt make sence, its like they needed an extra tech and said what the heck just put in alphabet.

to the first question i completely agree, there should be added research time to allmost all techs. I cant prevent getting riflemen in the 14-15 century. maybe adding 10% to the 3rd era, 15 to the 4th and 20% to the 5th & 6th. Ironclads should stay as they are. yes they are slow, but thats...
