i take it this is civ1 you are talking about. was there any money in the box? for the wonder, when you've explored the city i have seen enemy cities on a wonder, though with no money in the box. my theory - the computer has decided to give a wonder to the city; its just a matter of time...

interesting if it was the mongols! they have never amounted to much in the games i've played. It's usually the pesky Russians who aren the nastiest. And the Zulus too! But not Mongols...
