A New Dawn Bug Reports and Feedback

In the 1.75, 1.76 beta 1, and 1.76 beta 2 installers, the default path it installs to is wrong: It makes a ...\Mods\Rise of Mankind - A New Dawn\Rise of Mankind - A New Dawn\ folder. Moving the incorrectly nested folder up a level fixes the problem, though.

    A New Dawn Beta Builds

Hrggg... memory straining to remember what causes this. iirc there's a choose religion option in the general game options screen or custom game setup screen, and another one in the BUG options screen. Having both of them on let you do that. But I think Civ5 hadn't yet been announced the last...

    RAND 1.76 Balancing and Suggestions

Maybe have the Longhouse replace the Village Hall? An Iroquois longhouse that you'd tell an entire city to build would probably be the one servicing the chief, so it'd serve pretty much the same purpose. If so, maybe drop the maintenance reduction to 10%, the :espionage: to 1, but give it the...

    what a good mapscript

PerfectMongoose3 is an improved PW2 (a Civ4 "downgrade" from Ceph's Civ5 PW3 script...) but 1) no marsh, 2) from what I saw, deserts were VERY rare. So if you don't want deserts, marshes, peat bogs, or storms this one is nice. PlanetGenerator 0.68 can probably make better maps (with marshes...

    what a good mapscript

I like PW2 too but yeah... deserts are a bit unrealistic for such a realistic mapscript(e.g. should be formed near 20N/S, NEVER where Hadley cells are dumping rain, and the only storms I see are ones I add in through the worldbuilder. What's a good one that uses everything AND has to offer (not...

What is an absolute newbie to do if he wants to play Dune Wars?

Mods that change as much as Dune Wars does are more or less a different game from BtS, aside from the expand-explore-exterminate bit. Having said that, the "Dune Encyclopedia" on the main menu of the game once the mod is loaded will tell you everything that's different from the original game...

My custom civ - Project Discussion

Er, if you could re-post the 12 December Channel Log post with the names or as much of the names that isn't spoily, would probably help with thinking up names.

My custom civ - Project Discussion

At the risk of sounding like a fool for not re-reading every post in the thread... Immortal UU name: Found melee line names. Ignore what was here before. Umm... cornucopic knight? knight of the endless sheaf? Religious 3: Promotion-granting spell, promotion wears off after 1 turn, gives...

    Ideas, Requests, and Feedback

The Order is a good religion? I could swear it said "adopting this religion will increase your Ethical Alignment...", not "Alignment". And Gaius Octavius is hardly what I'd call "good". Come to think of it, neither are Angaad nor Tethira.

They really need to work on their security. Found the release date: 1 July 5.5/Apple/26, or in the lexicon of the present, 1 July 5000000000 AD. But by then everyone of importance be on Platform One watching the Earth be absorbed by the Sun.

Rise from Erebus 1.30 Bug Thread

Here's the message, courtesy of a WB-placed warrior. Also had it happen on some frostlings (thank you, Auric, for finishing Samhain. I do so enjoy the frostlings that are EVERYWHERE.) Edit: The great and powerful Windows Grep has decided the file ...\XML\Text\CIV4GameText_Modcomp.xml is...

Rise from Erebus 1.30 Bug Thread

Playing as Austrin Very minor bug in the not-OP-in-any-way Attack Falcons' air strike ability: the </color> tag at the end of the message they give when damaging something doesn't have the > at the end (so it's a </color tag instead). Not sure what else has the air strike ability, guessing...
