well you seem to be royaly screwed now possibly. When in that situation, I would... 1. Build a huge navy. Your enemies can't invade if they can't get their transports to your island. 2. Be agressive with that navy. Keep a bunch of ships near their coast. To strike back and see exactly...

not to mention a few extra units to guard him and a ship or two. I use that tactic a lot. Works well against people who don't plan very well. No offense.

Im a "follow the coast" explorer. I love placeing cities on coast lines. I even won a game where I had built all my cities on a coatsline of a continent. Stupid, I know, but it worked, because when ever i was attacked, the AI had to go through some rough mountians first. i usually explore...

Yeah, I love land maps, but if you piss everybody off, YOU ARE DOOOOMMMMEEEDD!! Never neglaect your science. In land maps, I always play the peaceful large empire, until i have a decent tech advantage. then I take on the world, but like you said, only one country at a time.

I love to use SEAL's, but i can usually get away with only one transport full. Though, edimittadly, it doesn't always work. But i always bring along a crapload of navy ships and airplanes. nothing makes me happier than to see an enemys coastline turned into a cratered mess.
