think of it as wealth you get right now and building a wonder puts it into a 20 year account that gains interest, but you can't withdraw until then (whenever someone actually builds the wonder.)

Just for getting an idea of why people pick specific leaders also, does 'favorite civic' actually do anything? I never really bothered to line that up with what i get.

Is there any way to watch someone else play? I'm new to the Civ series but it appears there's no replay system (too bad :( ). Is there any way to watch either a recorded or a live game over the internet of someone playing? I figure it's a good way to learn some tricks of the trade, as they say.
