It helped, but I still don't get why it took so long. It was ok in ordinary Civ4. The delay occured only in BTS.

I have installed my directx from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=9226a611-62fe-4f61-aba1-914185249413&displaylang=en before I even installed Civ4 so this should not be the problem.

I've got new notebook - Asus M50Vn with GF 9650M GT graphic card, Windows Vista with latest update, the newest Nvidia Mobile driver (179.28). I've installed Civ4, Civ4-Warlords, Civ4-BTS, all with newest official updates. Everything works fine, but there is one problem, which I suppose is a bug...
