Civ 3 on laptop - arrow keys scroll map, don't move units

Oh yeah, that's what I'm doing right now. My question was, is there anyway to make the regular arrow keys (not the number pad number keys) move units instead?

How do you turn on the numberpad function?

Civ 3 on laptop - arrow keys scroll map, don't move units

I am playing Civ 3 on my laptop, and my arrow keys scroll the map instead of moving units (my home, end, page up, and page down keys do move units properly). Is there any way to get the arrow keys to move units instead? I can turn the num lock on and then use the number pad to move units, but...

Move your troops NOW vs. move or go to WAR?

Sometimes, when enemies are in your land, you have the option of telling them to "move NOW" (i.e. just a "suggestion"), and other times you can tell them to "move or go to WAR" (i.e. they have to automove instantly if they don't go to war). What determines which of these shows up? It's not...

Is there a way to dictate your extra townsfolks' specialty?

So, governors controlling city production nonwithstanding, the general consensus is that there is no way to make your specialists default to entertainers?

Troops in enemy territory hurt reputation, approval rating?

Well, sometimes you either have to move or declare war, and sometimes you can ignore them without declaring a war. The same with your demands of enemies: sometimes you can only say "remove your troops from our territory" (an agreement doesn't automatically do anything) and sometimes you're...

Is there a way to dictate your extra townsfolks' specialty?

Hmm... well, I have a lot of unhappy people in my city (not civil disorder unhappy, since I have lots of happy people too, but just annoying unhappy)... I have my luxury rate set to 0%, since I'm making a ton of money and science from my tax rate, and since I have all these extra guys in my 20+...

Troops in enemy territory hurt reputation, approval rating?

I was engaged in a long war with the Egyptians and, despite the fact that they had attacked me and I had Universal Suffrage, eventually I had to declare peace with them just to stop the rampant war weariness. It was quite annoying, as I was running roughshod over them, making them pay the price...

Is there a way to dictate your extra townsfolks' specialty?

Is there a way to dictate what the extra people in a town (those that can't work because the town population has exceeded the number of workable squares) become? Say you have more money than God and more science than Einstein, but you just want your people to be happy, so you want any new...

Getting rid of the ugly rubble in PTW?

Is there a way to get rid of that ugly rubble left after a city is destroyed in Play the World? There was no rubble in the original Civ3. I know the rubble doesn't actually do anything -- the ground is still as productive as normal, you can rebuild on top of it, and all that -- but it just...

Way to change the difficulty of a hotseat game?

Your solution works great. Finally, we can play a hotseat game where the AI civs aren't all pathetic and dead before the start of the Middle Ages. Thanks a million!

Way to change the difficulty of a hotseat game?

Are you playing a new game or loading a scenario? I think the bug is specific just to hotseat, nothing else. I haven't tried to find a scenario with regent difficulty, I was just starting new games, maybe I will look for a good scenario file...

Way to change the difficulty of a hotseat game?

Six, I think? Or five? Not regent level unhappiness, I'm pretty sure. My game always says chieftain consistently, it doesn't switch. Plus, the game is way too easy to be regent; I'm not a terribly great player, but it takes no effort at all to demolish all of the computers. They don't even...

Way to change the difficulty of a hotseat game?

There is a bug even in 1.14 of PTW where no matter what difficulty level I pick in a hotseat game, the game always goes to chieftain difficulty. There doesn't seem to be any way around this through the game creation screen. Since I can't fix that, is there a way to change the difficulty level...
