Re Archery 2280BC: Are you saying don't tech archery that early or don't build archers? Because if I am pumping dudes out I may as well make archers, but I can see a case for the former in bronze first and then making spears instead.
That would make a lot more sense, actually. I was thinking that in normal games specialists won't keep up with cottage spam in the later decades, but it would make sense in a OCC where I'm bottlenecked by tiles.
I guess I will give up with this one and try for specialists next time.
How do...
It's a lot harder than I expected when you just don't have the economic strength of 9 other cities.
I thought diplomatic victory would be the best chance at this point and then realized I don't have no idea how to bring up the relations.
I don't even know how many diplomatic points is...
But it's a crapshoot right? Sometimes you get a lucky selection of AI and relations and it becomes very easy.
You can't say it just averages out because volatility is a factor in having a balanced mechanic.
Thanks for the comments guys, I ended up #7 in GNP but #1 in production. Funny how that works out, lol.
As for worse, I know; my partner started on the "worse" land being a lot of desert and tundra.
It's not all brown, but I don't think there's enough grass to effectively build a cottage economy. Anyways here are screens, general comments on my city placements are welcome too.
Also, my friend failed at Colossus so, that sucks. >_<
So my empire has a lot of hills and a lot of plains, but not a ton of grass and about 4000 years later I realized I don't really know how to deal with it. There's enough around for the cities to feed themselves for sure but not much for cottaging or running specialists.
What do people usually...
If you're playing a team game in multiplayer, say someone sets their difficulty to chieftain and another sets it to monarch, how are the AI bonuses determined?
