I'm nowhere near an expert....only play on king, but I find Rome and Arabia good to win with. Rome because you can build roads and forts with your legions, and have your workers focus on improvements and you get cheaper buildings in every city outside your cap. Arabia for the double luxuries...

Someone else will be on soon to help with that....I'm not sure. My suggestion would be to produce archers, then upgrade them to composite bows. I think it's 80 :gold: to upgrade against 280 :gold: to buy. (Guessing prices.....at work)

There's a mod that lets you choose your starting position. I think it's called reseed.
