I think that will be part of CEP Advanced due to lua coding.
I believe the plans are to release CEP basic which will be more simple things and also more compatible. Then work on CEP advanced with more complex coding etc.
So if we are going for synergy with the civs abilities it would be nice to have some synergy with the forests giving faith one for the celts. The celts want to keep forests around/settle near them for getting faith. This translates to more forest tiles to work which would synergize with...
Its worth bringing up that tradition, liberty, and honor all have different ways to get more culture in the openers so that any of those choices allow similar policy rate gain, just in different ways.
Also I think great prophet should be excluded from the list of great ppl at the finish of...
I would add to the previously mentioned comments on the frequency of isles, that they should be toned down. They make coastal cities viable for sure, but with the religious pantheon that adds 2 culture and 2 faith to each they become very very powerful.
I agree with albie's well constructed post above (wont quote it for the sake of space ;) )
I think if vanguards lost their defender role and performed a more limited role (but still very important!) then they wouldn't be so bad as ppl find them from GEM. The AI wont spam them and spears...
Would there be a way to code buildings so that their gold buy cost went down per era?
So early game you would have to build those shrines libraries etc but late game they could be bought in your new cities but woudl still have to build the universities etc?
I also second that gold was too good...
Some initial thoughts:
So on my first playthrough with the shoshone I have to say I love almost all of the changes!
Playing peacefully is so much more engaging now with the new mechanics....anyway, gushing praise over, on to some more specific thoughts:
1. All the citystates seemed to be...
Yeah, and they might be fine still for BNW but with all the changes to economy things in the expansion figured we would need more time to see if they still were needed. I guess Ill have to play a few without the patch as well....those other changes are so alluring though, lol.
I agree that spears become a little bland with vanguard and are more interesting. The thing is that having spearmen being healers/scouts etc seems a bit strange. At least for me.
I just read patch notes and love most of the changes so would love to start playing with the mod but I'm not sure why a few were added so early.
City development starts faster, then slows down sooner (population growth, and culture/gold tile expansion).
Slightly increased construction speed in...
I personally love the vanguard unit line.
The only issue I see with Mitsho's above suggestion of combining vanguard/spear is that the vanguard units and spear units are easily differential by looks/name in GEM which is much easier for the player so we dont have to constantly look at each unit...
Yeah, just finally downloading now and checked out their other abilities. Their new scout can choose what goody hut reward to get??? Looks like i know who I will be trying out first
I know we dont want to make too many changes to the new civs yet but I find it weird that the Shoshone have the extra starting land....I mean they didnt really have all that much land. I feel that maybe switching that one to Russia (or maybe the US) and giving the shoshone a new one might be...
