This for me is the only feature that really bothers me constantly. Hope it will be high on the priority list.
Another smaller point about UI scaling: It is on by default. On a 4K screen, the menus look all blurry because the bitmaps are low-res. Took me some time to understand that you have to...
I'm French as well and a long time Civ player (started with Civ 1 back in the day!). My steam name is Rince. A Play By Cloud game would be great. We would just have to arrange everyone by timezone or playtime to make sure that we can have one turn per day.
I'll be damned, it really works.
I always thought steam is checking the region, but apparently it does so only for the purchase, not for the activation. Since the key from MacUpdate is a US-key, the unlocking works.
This is from France btw. in case any fellow Frenchmen are hesitant.
Fantastic. Thanks a lot for this tip.
I did not pre-order since I planned getting the boxed version (like I do since CivI came out). But half price and getting it two evenings earlier is just too good to ignore.
Guess I can always buy it from a bargain bin later if I ever regret not having the...
I haven't bought any. I told myself that I first have to play every vanilla Civ at least once.
On the other hand I feel a bit bored now about always having the same opponents.
But now it's too late to buy DLC because I know that the day after I buy them, Firaxis will release a DLC pack.
Life...
I'm 99% sure that there will be an expansion and that it will be announced soon.
The CivIV expansion weren't announced a long time in advance either IIRC.
Any stacking capabilities (even limited like 1 melee + 1 ranged) would lower the tactical depth of combat.
That being said, the system could be made much simpler while still keeping the requirement that there can be only 1 upt at the end of the turn.
Another possiblity: Have a "mobilization"...
Same for me on Epic. Sure buildings take long to build but then again, the game does advance at a slower pace. If buildings were constructed as fast as on Normal, you'd run out of buildings fairly quickly.
And as mentioned by Ellye, you don't need tons of units. Keep them alive and upgrade them...
You need more units. Bring in some strong, non-ranged combat units such as tanks. That way the damage the enemy is doing to you is spread over a larger number of units. As soon as a unit gets weak, swap it out for another one and let it heal.
Non-ranged units can also attack the city. They will...
I've had a game (on Prince) where not a single war was declared over the course of the whole game. It was Archipelago though, so it might be linked to there being less shared borders.
In my current game (King) I get along well with almost everybody. Nobody attacked me and I'm on turn 284...
I can't really understand why people want to have religion back. The way it was implemented in Civ IV did not add a lot of strategy. You simply had to pick a religion and then spam the rest of the world with your missionaries.
If Firaxis brings back religion, I hope they overhaul the whole...
