    Realism Invictus

Just checked the SVN update log after a long break and almost couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this: Good job Walter and the whole RI team, I know for a fact that this one is gonna make some long-time fans of this mod really happy! Really interested to see how it all works out once I got...

    Realism Invictus

Updating TortoiseSVN to the newest version and re-downloading the whole mod did the trick, it works now. No idea what was going on there. The Sourceforge page of RI has a "download snapshot" function that might give you just that: https://sourceforge.net/p/civ4mods/code/HEAD/tree/ Not sure...

    Realism Invictus

Is anybody else having problems while trying to update the mod to the latest SVN revision (5147)? For me it fails to start downloading and TortoiseSVN shows the following error message instead: Unexpected HTTP status 413 'Request Entity Too Large' on '/p/civ4mods/code/!svn/me' Additional...

What kind of power ratios did you have with your neighbors? AI in this mod generally likes to declare wars even without a spesific reason if they see their military power is higher than yours. Besides the power ratios, having units stationed near your borders seems to make them less likely to...

Here's a guide for that: http://www.realism-invictus.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=825 Basically download a subversion client program (TortoiseSVN is recommended) first and follow the instructions.

I wonder how difficult it would be coding-wise to make "avoid growth" switch off after a city loses population to epidemics. Any ideas? It's a seemingly small change but would reduce the annoying micromanagement quite a lot. There's always the SVN if you don't like waiting for the official 3.4...

Small request to include in the upcoming 3.4 update: civilopedia texts for the different specialists could be updated to represent their current state. More experienced players already know how they work, but there might still be some newcomers who wonder what craftsmen are supposed to do, etc...

Fair points. I still suggest calculating how much Progressive trait actually saves money in the long run though. It's difficult to estimate but I have a feeling that it could be at least 5% of the whole income depending on the situation, which is quite a lot considering that the same trait also...

Nice, I was just about to point this problem out as well :goodjob: In my last game with SVN 5082 (Huge random map, Monarch difficulty) peace vassalizations got completely out of hand and by late medieval times basically everyone was vassal to either myself or my biggest rival. This was pretty...

Out of curiosity I have to ask: what kind of maps do you mostly play? Can you manage the barbarians on maps with large landmasses and default number of AIs? And if so, how? I find that REALLY challenging on monarch especially if the starting location is in the middle of the continent.

Just decided to test out the newest version and the first thing I noticed was this. Would it make sense to have "raging barbarians" off by default or at least reduce the spawning a bit? Right now the first 100 turns are absolutely terrifying when you are playing monarch or above. If you don't...

    Realism Invictus

Sad to hear that, especially as Civ 6 really hasn't been enjoyable at all yet because of the broken AI and diplomacy. I guess everything comes to it's end at some point, but it would have been great to see Revolutions merged before that...

City name lists for the remaining Viking leaders: Ragnar: Gustav II Adolf: Gustav I Vasa: Christian IV: City names become surprisingly complicated when they have changed over the centuries and every damn language has their own version of them. On these lists I've tried to use...

    Realism Invictus

Yeah, the art is something that really separates this mod from the other big modpacks for Civ4. I really like how every civilization feels and looks a bit different, and distinctive unit/building models are a big factor in that. Ah, good. I'll try to compile lists for the remaining Viking...

I just realized that some new barbarian buildings were added earlier this year, and few of them produce extra culture. If they are given enough time, they may produce quite a lot and it just takes a long while to change the tile nationality to your favor. In my opinion it would make sense to...
