If there's a city next to me that I want, I'll usually try to take it around the Renaissance Era provided that I'm not up against a strong military. But I do most of my offensive wars the moment I get artillery because you're at such an advantage being able to bombard enemy cities three tiles away.

I've gotten into loads of defensive pacts before, I just wish the AI engaged in more defensive pacts with other AI.

To credit those who did correctly predict an AC2, the leak didn't happen until like 30 minutes before the reveal, so there were plenty of people predicting it without seeing the leak of it.

At this point, it's pretty much assumed new releases for Windows will be on Steam.

I actually thought a Fall release date was pretty quick. That around 6 months. Half of the time with a studio's AAA games, you have to wait well over a year, sometimes a few years before the time they are announced and their release date.

Just based on the three pics released, it looks like the Civilization 5 engine.

I like how they didn't call it "Civilization 5: Beyond Earth." I feel as though the "Civilization IV: Colonization" title confused lots of people into thinking it was an expansion pack, and not a standalone game.

Seeing as how screenshots from the game were leaked right before the announcement, I'd imagine there'd be some gameplay footage.
