I usually always start a testgame with the defaultnumber and after 1 full turn I turn on the editor to locate everyone and decides from that what would be appropriate.
I really don't care about the money. I would gladly pay 100-150$ for a game that I want. It's the DLC model I really dislike. I have stopped downloaded mods since I don't want to investigate in what DLC that mod require. I am also less visiting the forum because I have noticed that opinions are...
No corporation alá Civ 4. However corporations as totally unique entities that plays differently than a nation I'd very much like. Would be fun to play a corporation yourself in a world of AI nations and other corporations to compete against. :D
That won't happen in Civilization 5 anyhow...
Well the AI aren't really top notch in this iteration of Civilization so I rather like crappy starts. AI also doesn't have the option to restart if they have a crappy start location so why should I? ;)
But that's just me and everyone should play their games as they wish. They really should not...
Most wars IRL wasn't total wars and ended up with the winning side giving back cities they had taken in the war to keep stability at bay. There are ofcourse exceptions to these and Germany during WW2 has been pointed out as one of them. In Civilization 5 terms I would say that Germany got some...
I always play with sparse resources because I like the fact that I may have to fight to gain important resources. Generally though iron usually isn't any problem more important for me is coal, oil, aluminium and uranium since I tend to be more agressive late in the game. :)
Oh and I always...
I can think of 2 ways I think it would be more fun... atleast for me.
1: No tiles at all. That is to say yes there has to be some sort of measure counting maybe in smaller pixels or so. Units have different sizes so they take up a number of pixels based on how big they are and that goes for...
In real life there is only one optimal route from place A to B. If we have two places of interest A and B. And B is directly 90 degrees (east) of A the optimal route is to go in 90 degress. If you by chance want to take the 45 degree (northeast) and then sway back to 135 degrees (southeast)...
Thanks dev you're doing a great job. :goodjob:
Btw I loved the game on the relaese day more so than I ever liked Civ 4 (however Civ 1 made the best impression on me when I bought it in 1991 or so). Civ 4 was always quite boring imho and only thanks to the superb mods it become playable for me...
Mine is "only 27". How do you think the new path will affect this?
What I didn't like about cottages in Civ 4 was their "grow" function. I don't see why a cottage build 2000 bc should yield more in 1800 ad than something built 1750. Cottages was one of my main beef with Civ 4. But yes they...
I like the game alot. I have from the release thought that Civ 5 design is way better than any Civ or Civlike game before Civ 5. The problem with the game has in my opinion always been that it was badly balanced and that AI is bad. This patch fixes some balance issues so I am very happy with it...
I bought Civilization 1 in 1991 or 1992 and have after that bought all Civilization games including Alpha Centauri and CTP series on the day of the release. I must say that Civ 5 is by far the most fun of all the releses and especially compared against CIV 4 wich I always though was quite...
