Can barbarians take your capital city?

Right but they can’t take (flip) the city or raze it.

Can barbarians take your capital city?

I was listening to a Saxygamer YouTube video (the guy is really knowledgeable) and he stated that barbarians cannot take your capital city. Can anybody confirm or deny this?

    Climate accords competition

Good to know, perfect thanks, appreciate it

    Climate accords competition

I’m trying to win this as it grants 2 Diplomatic victory points. I’ve never spent much time worrying about pollution before so this is new to me. 1) I’m curious as to how the winner here is Determined? Is past pollution pertinent? Or just post pollution? Do you get points for decommissioning...

Trying to figure out how to win a diplomatic victory

I appreciate the posts, especially the longer ones. Thanks guys. Seems like it might be more trouble than it’s worth, especially if save scumming MIGHT be required. But I’ll play it out and see what happens. I’m turn 50 or so I think. I ended up with more trouble with barbs than I expected...

Trying to figure out how to win a diplomatic victory

Just fired up a new game. It’s my first go at King, (Prince has gotten too easy). I’ve read in a couple of places that you ought to save up all of your diplomatic favor for the important votes about world leader later in the game? Is that correct? And how do you try to get on the winning side...

Question about districts for religious attempt

I’ve never attempted a religious victory before and I’m trying to determine how much effort needs to be made toward culture and science. I understand that culture is more important than science and that obviously Faith needs prioritized etc. Let me phrase my question this way. Let’s say I end...

Can you lock production cost of a district into place?

Yea. It’s a powerful strategy if so. If it’s still viable I’m surprised it’s not talked about more.

Can you lock production cost of a district into place?

On a YouTube video, somebody mentioned that districts become more expensive (production wise) as you advance to later eras. The YouTuber reccomended that you, therefore, put down a wanted district as soon as possible, but that you don’t have to finish it. This way, the cheaper production of the...

What turn to stop building cities by?

Great post, thank you. That’s what I was looking for. There is a math to the whole thing when it comes to weighing the cost of producing a settler, and sending a military unit with him, versus the cities production until the end of the game. The benefit of the latter needs to outweigh the cost...

Where am I supposed to build a national park? (Pics included)

This the second game in a row where I’m seemingly unable to build a National Park with my Naturalist. Or am I missing something here??

What turn to stop building cities by?

I know there’s no one answer to this question because it depends upon the unique circumstances of the current game, but GENERALLY what turn should you stop expanding by? Obviously you’re not going to build an new settlement at turn 450. But what about turn 200?

Is “score” a worthwhile indicator of anything?

I’ve got 4 games under my belt now (with my 5th one underway) and have two victories, 1 science and 1 domination. It always seems like I’m middle of the pack Score-wise, except towards the middle and end game of my domination victory, where I was well ahead. Is score any kind of reliable...

Going for culture victory (how to balance with science and religion)

Would that benefit THEM as well though? The rival city? Or no? If we both have high culture and share a religion, wouldn’t they get bonus from that too?
