Given how many things in FFH are slight modifications of things from famous fantasy novels, maybe it has something to do with the Heron Spear in Prince of Nothing. Not that the Spear has anything to do with thrones....or water...or resources. But how many legendary artifacts named after herons...
834) You suspect anyone you hear singing "Winter Wonderland" or "White Christmas" of being an Illian.
835) You hear that "a child has been born in the Judean city of Bethlehem who is prophecied to bring peace to the world", and you start wondering whether to protect him and lower the...
I disagree.
Heroes are special and flavorful. If you hand the Nether Blade to a Champion who's got a little higher base power than Rathus, you've munchkined two or three extra strength points out of it...and completely mucked up the lore about Rathus and the Shadowed Vale and the appeal of...
Played on Noble and won.
I grouped about two-thirds of my unit into a stack-o-doom strike force, and left the other third around one the mountain passes into Bourne the Gleaming to pick off any units that got through my strike force. The strike force went straight to Bastradam at two moves/turn...
Finished! Nothing worse than the Kane map trade bug.
The scenario was a lot of fun, though the religious victory condition was hard. I wish the map had some gunpowder though. I didn't see any, though it might have been off in a corner somewhere. Gunpowder and the Malakim go well together, and...
Absolutely wonderful scen, and the first time since Age of Ice I actually felt I was in the FFH world.
I did get all of the problems other people have mentioned. Sabathiel killed Muirin before I even got a chance to see what he/she/it was. It told me to research Order when I already had it...
Absolutely beautiful scenario, and exactly what I was hoping for out of Ice - a fun scenario with significant differences from regular gameplay that advances the FFH plot. I loved the riddle. Meshabber could teach Perpentach a thing or two about poems.
Won as the Svaltafar. Partly by using Gibbon Goetia to dominate all enemy defenders one by one, but partly by fair means too.
Aside from the bugs people have already reported, I wasn't able to build Alazkan even though I beelined for him. I think maybe as soon as my team discovered Poisons...
If no pedia entries, I at least hope Kael and Co will be willing to answer questions in the Lore subforum. Perpentach's poetry's makes me very curious who Tya Kiri is and what role she plays in Amurite history.
I'm pretty sure I won this scenario - I killed my 100 units, protected Bourne the Gleaming, killed Hyborem, and razed all the Infernal cities - but it was all just reported as a conquest victory for Basium.
Other issues:
- There was an ocean square near Bastradam where Ira kept spawning, so...
Kaelyn? :eek::eek:
Everything worked okay for me. Kind of over-simple, but only for brief periods as opposed to Momus which keeps going forever. Keelyn is just about how I always imagined her, and the story text is great :)
Possible bug: The explanations telling me about a certain type of...
Pros:
- The leader art is amazing. Whoever finds these things really outdid himself.
- Great storyline at the beginning with the archangel and such.
- Concept is kind of fun.
Cons:
-AAAARGH. I feel like this is some kind of punishment. "No you can't get to the next scenario until you...
And that's why you're not a callous immortal tyrant toying with a terrified populace :)
I always thought of it as an incentive for the Calabim leadership to consider keeping as much of the population as possible in a state of miserable slavery and squalor, as opposed to letting them rise up...
