Yes. Just uploaded the new DLC and now can't get past the loading screen. I cannot believe that no-one tested this out before release. Amateurish does not cover it.
Loaded a save game and found that Wonders in mid-build are now halted with message "production too low". Build info in city screen shows Wonder as current build but "Nothing is being produced" as bottom right. Production options in other cities show any wonder as taking "999+ turns" with same...
MacbookPro Retina 15in Early 2013. 2.4GHz i7, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, nvidia GT650M 1024Mb (basically the provisional minimum specs before Aspyr revised them upwards). Benchmarking with everything low gives me average 10fps (rate almost always between 8 and 13fps). Not ideal, but it looks playable...
I posted above a reply that I had from Aspyr about the GT650M 1Gb card I've got (which was the minimum on the provisional system requirements) - he told me that the game ran fine for the most part, but it wasn't perfect at all times (late game on larger maps was mentioned elsewhere). So I would...
Except that I had a reply from Aspyr last Wednesday (after they upped the minimum graphics card specs from the 650M that I have) that said there were issues in late game on "larger maps". Steam only guarantees refunds on games played for less than two hours - which is not long enough to get to...
I had this reply from AspyrRyan (last Weds evening, when the minimum graphics specs changed from the 650M that I have in my MacBook pro)
We made the move because of sluggish late game performance on larger maps with the 650. The 1GB 650M is for the most part playable...it just doesn't meet our...
It's only disappointing because simultaneous release was dangled as a possibility. If they can get the mac version up and running within three or four days of the PC release, I think that's pretty impressive (and a big improvement on previous civs).
Thanks for the reply. I appreciate your presence on these boards - very good customer relations. Just wondering - by "larger" do you mean bigger than "standard".
Aspyr is now showing GeForce 775M as minimum graphics card. When did that happen? The only benchmark figures I can find are for the GTX775M, which has much faster clock speed, but lower 3D performance. Wondering where that leaves my MacBook Pro with the 650?
Anyone have any idea? (this isn't my...
CivV has taught me that a major software company doesn't realise that its prime brand has a huge following among players who are interested in the strategy and gameplay and not in resource-gobbling graphics, and consequently don't own and don't want to buy 'gaming' machines.
Anyone had any luck with MacBookPro. Mine's 3 years old (which Windows users will laugh at, but Macs have a longer working life) -
Running 10.5.8, 2.4GHz Duo, 2GB RAM and - I think this is the killer - Nvidia 8600M GT.
Crossover/Steam and the demo version - game seems to start okay, but text is...
