I don't have this experience with Emperor. I have an LP with Morocco and I had 4 Crossbows and my city was on a hill with walls in a forested area... Carthage took my city in like 2 turns.

I haven't watched all the episodes yet, but I took a glimpse at the latest... do you not have any military? I cannot even get away with that on Emperor. It amazes me how you get away with some of the stuff you do on Deity haha.

I had the same issue with my mic volume when I first started recording. You need to turn up your mic volume under the control panel. I am not sure which version of Windows you are running, but if you go to Sound and then Recording, you will see a levels tab. Bump up the microphone boost a bit...
