There's just something about the simplicity of the graphics that make the original civ so charming. I don't like Civ 2 or FreeCiv because the graphics just aren't the same.

Pardon me for digging up an old thread, but is there any way to modify the default start positions for civilizations when playing in Earth mode? Only because the English are always pathetic so I'd like to change it so they start in Australia or something.

OK, thanks for letting me know. I can boot into windows to use it, but it's annoying as my computer runs painfully slow in windows.

I don't suppose there are any plans to port this software to linux? Does anyone know if it works with WINE?

I've always wondered if barbarians could florish into a proper civilization if you let them capture loads of cities. Has anyone ever tried this? I'm assuming you wouldn't be able to meet their king though!
