Someone in the Warlords forum helped me out. What was happening was the Nvidia Firewall was mangling the exe files as they were being downloaded. I tested it by downloading a couple other exe files and they had the same errors as Warlords did. Turned off the firewall and downloaded the Warlords...
I tried that one already. I think its an issue with my firewall corrupting the d/l.
EDIT
Also, when you install warlords it prompts you to install 1.61
Has anyone had any problems installing this the D2D Warlords? Mine errors out and will not install despite the fact I have downloaded it several times from the D2D website. Not asking for tech help as I have a post in the tech support site... just wanted to know if anyone else has been having...
I appreciate your reply.
The 1.61 Patch that comes with Warlords pops up an installation wizard. I go through the wizard and I get the same error as above. I am able to run the 1.61 patch that I downloaded and that installs just fine. Still... the overall result is the same.
Thank you.
Win Xp Pro SP2
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
1 GB DDR Ram
Nvidia 6600 GT PCI Express Video Card
Civ IV runs fine (I have the D2D version)
I can upgrade to most current patch and the game is golden
Purchased D2D Warlords and try to install it I am able to accept the EULA and the progress bar for...
All it took was and AMD64 3500 processor, an ASUS SLi Deluxe mobo and a nvidia 6600 OC. I played civ for 3 hours no problems. On the biggest map size and max computer players it was a bit slow, but no crashes!
I knew that it was a problem that i just needed to throw some money at!
LOL
Well. Tonight I am going to go buy a 3.5 GHz 65 bit processor with a mobo to match. Gonna get a nVidia PCIexpress Video card. We shall see if CIV will play on that. I will let you know soon.
Interestingly enough.. there now is no IRQ16... and in my bios it does not list the IRQ for the primary graphics card... interesting...
IRQ 0 System timer OK
IRQ 1 Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard OK
IRQ 3 Communications Port (COM2) OK
IRQ 4 Communications Port...
Well....
Neon Deon, I tried the whole delving deep into my computer and pulling stuff out and uninstalling and all that jazz.
MY COMPUTER EXPLODED
Not really... but Civ does not work. I'm now only craching to BSOD. The last error had something to do with a USB device... I did not have one...
