I followed your way but I only found CivilizationIV.ini.bak which I cannot open.There is also"Civilization configuration settings" with several lines but no HideMinSpec.

Do you mean patch 1.52 ?. I did that.It helped a little but when I start a game,the computer still shows : your machine / 2.66 GHz Pentium 4, 512 MB DDR SDRAM memory, 128 MB DDR SDRAM NVIDIA graphics/ is below recommended specifications etc.

Which graphics card is recommended for Civ4 ?. I have NVIDIA GeForce4 MX440 ,I tested it and it only meets minimum requirements.

My best result was reaching year 1730,almost all civilizations were fighting me and I stopped losing most of the cities.

I am successful as WORLORD but I keep on losing as REGENT in Civ3.Any tips,please
