Well there was nothing in the startup.
Strangely while editing my civ4.ini file for that blasted "minimum req...." I noticed there was a line for an auto start of cd. I set it to 1 (deactivate). Restarted my machine. :mischief: and it resulted in the uninstall program to start and then just...
:mad: Everytime I start my laptop the CIV IV cd automatically starts the program to uninstall the game. I have to wait for it to finish loading in, just so I can press "cancel". Then I can start the game.
I have deselected auto start in WinXP for the cd drive. (No Action)

I get the same message when I enter the main menu.
First I thought it was a fine gesture of Friaxis to change my graphic settings to "tweak" my computer for optimized playing...:)
But.. :confused: I am not allowed to force change the graphic settings, it says I have to restart the game...
