basically more modern units, as I personally don't like to conquer the world with hordes of swordsmen in the middle ages. Just feels wrong to me. I always...
But then, all units should represent a bunch of different arms. I.e., a tank should represent a group of tanks, together with some reconaissance units, supply units, engineers etc. And again, that way, artillery would be already present in these units and a stand-alone artillery unit would be...
That doesn't make sense either, as there was at no time in history something like an artillery army or division or korps or something like that. Artillery was and still is an support unit, attached to fighting units to give more firepower. Thus, on a strategic level, there shouldn't even be an...
I don't like the new artillery system. Yes, huge artillery stacks in Civ3 are an exploit, but only because the AI doesn't use it.
Now we have two nice armies, meeting on the battlefield. The spearmen get into position, the archers are ready.... And now the battle starts with the charge of the...
I think the new graphic is beautiful but unsuitable.
I love to look at all that 3D stuff, but I find it difficult to play the game. I need to zoom out pretty much to get an appropriate strategic view, but then, the whole map looks just something greenish-brownish. I have difficulties to...
Unexisted, your splash is great. The mist and the people pointing into the air give the picture a nice mysterious ambience.
Please both!
The second one fits great with your wonder splash. The first one I will use as a different wonder with Unexisted's wonder splash.
edit: typing errors
AK47, the small picture looks for me rather like an old faktory than a secret military base. (But if you wanna hide a secret base that's maybe the perfect camouflage ;) )
However, the wonder splash looks great
I like it very much and will use it now.
Here is pesoloco's Blimp:

and here is the same blimp as multifigure unit from CCJ39:

I'm pretty shure that there is another threat with another three blimps. If I...
What about this:
A certain amount of a resource allows you to support a certain amount of units. Say you have oil resources worth 20, so you can have 20 units requireing oil as resource. And that's it.
Building would work as usual. Only if you reach the maximum amount of oil-dependent units...
Yes, my idea needs some work. I didn't spent much thinking on it before I wrote the post.
Units don't need to be just grounded when cut off supply. What about losing on HP each turn or something like that?
My idea was indeed that units shouldn't have to go to cities or supply centers...
In some way you are right.
I always looked at it that way: The attack as shown in the game stands for attacks of a whole squadron of aircrafts in a certain period of time. The loss of a population point includes kills in the civil population as well as homeless and fleeing people.
Yes, civil...
Well, basically I like the idea of supply limitation.
A simple system that I can imagine would work is a range stat for units. Unit movement would be like it is now, but restricted to your own territory plus number of squares according to the range stat. No active resupplying, you just activate...
I partly agree.
I think you should be able to pick your target. But it's a sad fact that the stupid defenders don't stand around crowded together on huge open places cheering "Hit me!". No, these bastards hide in, behind and on nearly every building in a city. Even with guided weapons you will...
