Civ V is my second most played game with just above 1000h.
First one is DoTA2 with 8000 hours - but hell, I played that thing like professionally/full time...
Anyway, I love the "generated" worlds civilization gives. There are very little game models which manage to generate world so well. I...
A friend of mine is streaming civV and somehow managed to get to around 40 viewers just by streaming.
I'm very happy about him, check it out at http://www.twitch.tv/novainthespace . :crazyeye:
I thought it wasn't working properly before, now I see what "not working" really means.
I was always wondering, how is it possible to write the net-code for turn-based(semi-discrete) tiled-based(discrete) network game, which doesn't work with 2-8 people with good internet, static ip's and...
Yes, stacked colonist + explorer works well. You actually don't need anything else to clean things off - city will start "working" on the aliens, just snipe the nest with the colonist.
You don't have to secure outpost, as far as I know. You can go for the nest as soon as you plant it...
Artists into cities into traderoutes into cities into traderoutes into cities into traderoutes is the only viable strategy atm /=
Well, health is irrelevant.
Your only see people at the same steam server.
Go into steam->settings->download_server to change that. Don't choose a server to far away - it may get pingy. If you're with a friend - it's perfectly fine to "monitor" different servers and than join one another.
They reserved the right not to do the refund in the vast majority of cases.
Nobody says you can't try to do it, esp. if you have a long steam history with lots of dollahs put it. Sometimes they'll do it in a "one time" manner, kind of similar to restoring your stolen items in games like dota2.
I agree with OP on almost everything.
I had the same feeling after a dozen of hours
Nah, you're probably wrong. Only first tier is needed in Prosperity, the rest is irrelevant 'cos of "-100 health" gaming.
Just had a city have 90 cargoShip hammers at the first turn of its life. And that happened before turn 100.
Had so many cities that names ran out, to turn 115.

Oh, forgot: was a 4p multiplayer...
Strategist83: was an NQ game with more or less decent players. I was building cities non-stop(inc. bad spots), into mass caravans, which resulted a VERY heavy hammer advantage, while staying ahead in both science and energyPerTurn.
It was so clear in that game that there's no reason to play...
Yes, you're correct ofc, under "fun" I mean "in an untraditional way". Like -2% of hammers per 1 unhappiness is a funless way to do it. It is damn effective, though.
Yeh it's possible, but it's kind of a waste of hammers and energy_per_turn, compared to having it at -500.
Quality guy at designing eco model. :)
While the current system is abusive, I'ld also love to see it be fun in some way, not just superharsh like it was in civ5.
Is not crucial at all.
I just played a 4p FFA game, which I ended with -90 health - being top1 production / science / army etc.

It literally feels there's no reason at all to stay...
