downloaded a kernel32.dll from window 2000 and put it in Windows/system32/ but still same error
I managed to make some progress, turns out I had 0.5.12-1 and I upgraded to 0.5.18, which gave a better error message saying it could not create the directory /home/user/Games/test-of-time-totpp-18-4/drive_c/Program Files/Microprose/Test of Time, so I created it.

Standalone, sadly that other iso gave the same error. I am on mxlinux mind you, though still Debian based might be different enough. This guide worked on the older Lutris mind you.
Thanks for this, sadly it fails at step 12, whether I autodetect or browse for the Test of time CD. Says Command Exited with code 256.
Gotta love informative error messages.
I have setup Lutris as the following:
Wine Prefix: Navigate to and select Games/TOTPP15
Executable: Navigate to ~/Games/TOTPP15/drive_c/Test of Time and select civtot11.exe
Working Directory: ~/Games/TOTPP15/drive_c/Test of Time
But I cannot get the patch to work, nothing shows up at all. Tried...
