    New Version – 5.0-alpha.03

We're back!!!!! Ok so I am confused on which component to pick. What is the different between EUI and 43civ EUI?

    (Un)Happiness Brainstorm

One thing I will note. Unhappiness adjustments are notoriously swingy. It took us a LOOOOOOOOONG time to get happiness to a reasonable place with this model, every adjustment would go from every citizen perfectly happy to revolts a dozen. So if people want to try a mod mod to change out some...

Rethinking the Bazooka Line and Proposing a Future Upgrade Path

The idea that missiles are something that missile units generate passively, rather than units built…is intriguing to me if it can be done well. Ultimately it could also be a big boon to the late game AI…as it would allow an enemy to focus fire and take out units more easily. An AI that could...

Should we add more late game buildings?

I can't tell until I get my hands on the new version. 4uc adds a ton of things that might change the pace of the game, so no idea.

Should we add more late game buildings?

I am always up for the discussion, but if its a "what would I vote right this moment", its no. When I look at most of the late game buildings proposed, I think teh entire concept of what a late game building is needs to be re-examined. Just adding yield generators and more X is not the answer...

To the glory of gods -> too OP?

I think TTGOG is directly dependent on which policies I am taking. For example a run that gives me access to Great Writers and Great Scientists....TTGOG is pretty meh. If I don't have one of those two, TTGOG is pretty solid. If I don't have either, TTGOG is the strongest belief. This comes...

Should we add more late game buildings?

Agreed, especially since we haven't yet seen what the newly 4UC is going to look like in terms of overall gameplay. We are ingesting a massive change to the game, so to vote on another just feels extremely premature.

    Retirement from Vox Populi

This is a true loss. Recursive you have been a stalwart member for a long time, and a steady hand at the wheel. I am sorry for the calamities you are dealing with in real life, and wish you all the luck in getting those issues addressed. Good luck to you sir, and may the wishes of a grateful...

    Law Balance: 3/7/2025

I wrote my own thoughts on law balance several years ago: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/laws-balance.677097/ so now coming back from hiatus and going through a lot of games, I wanted to see how the balance of laws felt with the multitude of changes that has happened in that time. Lets...

The Market Line (UPDATED for 1/1/2025)

Many years ago, I did an analysis that showcased issues in the market line: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/the-market-line-balance-discussion.677465/ Basically, I showed that under most conditions you were better off just getting basic no bonus stone quarries rather than going the...

    1000 AI Game 4.15.2 4UC+Supply Rework Stats

just making sure I didn't completely miss something. Is this 4.15 with the old 4UC mod added in, or is this actually the new fully integrated 4uc version?

Any plans for improved naval AI?

I would argue there is more strategy in naval than in land battles by a good bit tbh. Positioning and scouting are everything in naval battles, because they are very swingy. Often the fate of an entire enemy fleet is decided in the first round I engage that fleet, because of how much (or how...

Anyone else more hyped for 4UC VP than civ 7 😅?

I mean, this is the VP forum, I would hope most of us would be more excited for a VP major update than some "side game" :)

The Civ VII team is aware of Vox Populi to the point they are just calling it "Vox Pop" now

Well its more "what level of AI can we get away with?" Firaxis has thrown down some stats ever so often about its user base, and the most consistent fact we have seen is....the VAST majority of players play the most basic difficulty. They are not looking for challenge when they play civ. AI is...

    Are inquisitors working as intended?

Agreed, it is not a straight comparison. remove 3k pressure is normally stronger than adding 3k pressure, depending on the curent values. That said, at the end of the day the inquistor has a purpose that occurs reasonably often in games. There are cities with high enough pressure that an...
