[1.0.0.167] "returned" own city is occupied

So, this just happened to me playing Scythia. First I didn't think it was a biggie, just waiting for the "occupation" to end... It is still occupied 30+ turns later! I did not garrison it until last turn (this is an ongoing game as of writing), maybe it will help?

    Summer 2017 Patch Problems

I have had a problem with tech popups since the update. Every time a tech spawns a new era, I don't get a popup screen for the tech.

Bug - Tech Pop Up Not Appearing

I have had the same several times but not consistently. I do not have the Nubia patch, just vanilla with Montezuma. Not every tech "misses" the popup, but I notice the techs unlocking the next great age tend to lose their popups.

How do you typically open the game?

I tend to start with a monument. But that is probably just my old habit from Civ 5... I like to have cultural expansion as quickly as possible. Come to think of it, I probably picked up the habit in Civ 4. Gold wise, I tend to buy a second scout as soon as I have the gold for it for goodie huts...

Do sea monsters normally attack embarked explorers?

In my experience, sea creatures are markedly more agressive than land creatures. Explorers on land during my games have mostly been left alone by aliens except when two hexes or so from an alien nest. Even the dreaded, earth drinking siege worm does not automatically attack (but I do not put...

    Alliance? What alliance?

I didn't play with alliances until recently. Gave my first try at Apollo, playing as Brazilia. Thing was, until now I really hadn't been attacked by other players (I always play Single Player), and was more concerned with aliens and the odd uppity settler so my military force was minimal. And...

Alien Aggression - how it works

OK, so this is probably a silly question, and I'm not sure if it is relevant for this thread, but: Is there a way to actually see the level of alien agression? I've played the game a few times now, and the only way I can see their agression level is if they attack me or not. Maybe I've...

About to be destroyed by miasma warning

I try to get miasma immunity for my workers as soon as possible. However I lose explorers a lot as I often forget to pull them out, heal them, and send them in to get the sweet sweet satellites. "Bravely, the Slavic explorers trundle on through the miasma, on the expedition to search the...

    Which Leader/civ is your Archnemesis?

Yeah, well it was even worse, as we shared a land border? Not my highest moment of strategic decicions... :eek:In fact definetly an "Eastern Front" type scenario... I was glad just to hand over his cities and all my gold, really!

    Which Leader/civ is your Archnemesis?

Personally, Gilgamesh is the leader I almost never end up beating; In that way he is my ultimate Nemesis. I have this feeling his intimidating posturing psyches me out a bit, but, well... There was this game where I was Isabella (I prefer to randomize civs) and shared a continent with Sumeria...

Civ V Diplo Thoughts from a new player

That's interesting... Any thoughts on the smaller city states? I know they have been set up as a deliberate "stumbling block" to create extra dynamics... Would you follow the same tactics here? Personally I'd love to have every single city state as an ally in a Large Worlds game, but haven't...

Who's the most treacherous of them all?

I've never really gone so far as to check the XML stats, but in my experience Gandhi comes really high as a backstabber. Or is it backstabbing? I mean, it's GANDHI, for Pete's sake! I just never see him coming... In the late game some of the most sinister leaders are Mansa Musa ans Zara Yakob...

    Why is Lovecraft so famous?

As a non-English speaking native I have a few ideas about Lovecraft's relative (ok he is rather obscure, but less so than other Gothic authors apart from Poe): First of all the earlier RPG "Call of Cthulhu" was how I discovered him. I read a biography by French author Michel Houellebecq on...

    My Next Game

I have to say, let chance decide? Earlier I've always bought up every expansion of Civ versions, giving me a plethora of civilizations to play with. Rather than specializing in one certain playing style or terrain, I often let the game surprise me. Honestly, that forces me to think on the fly...
