Thanks @beetle. I did become their ally and paid them and got the uranium. But then another Civ seems to have usurped me and replaced me as their ally so I'm back to square one! But at least I understand how the mechanic works now, cheers
Hi. I've been playing Civ on and off for many years and understand the basic mechanics of the game. I usually enjoy building my little empire and generally am fairly pacifist unless attacked.
In my current game, as England I have a nice empire of 5 cities churning out gold and science and...
Me too. Didn't think my old laptop would cope with it, but I have Civ VI up and running. Not even got everything on lowest settings and it is running acceptably. OK, it may slow down as I progress but I can cope with that. Gives me thinking time in between turns.
Will probably still get a new...

Anyone advise on this one? 599 GBP but has AMD components - not sure how they stack up against the Intel ones?

I think they generally are more expensive here. When looking on reddit for recommendations people link to sites like bestbuy and newegg for really high spec machines around 800 - 900 USD but then when you search for the same product on Amazon UK it's almost like the same price but in GBP! One of...
Thanks for the help. I guess I'd get a lot more for my £800 with a desktop but I do travel with work quite a bit, plus we have weekends away in the caravan with the kids which makes it the ideal time to play for me, so the portability is a big plus really.
Thanks mate. I don't really understand the whole graphics card numbering thing!
Are you saying the GTX950M is not good for Civ VI?
I also saw this which is at the top end (£799) of my budget:
MSI GL62 6QF-1089UK 15.6-Inch Notebook (Black) - (Intel i7 6700HQ Skylake, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD and 128...
I suppose what I am asking is will the moderate increases in RAM (6GB > 16GB), Processor (i5 > i7) and Graphics (GT540 > GT950) add up to a decent performance (bearing in mind the increase in minimum requirements from V to VI)?
EDIT: Just had a very near the asking price offer for my existing...
Hi guys. I'm sort of in the market for a new laptop and want to get one which will run Civ VI at reasonable settings (1920 x 1080 preferred, not too fussed about high detail etc).
I currently have a Lenovo Z500 (i5 2.5, 6GB, Nvidia GT540) which is more than capable of running Civ V (sometimes...
Hi. I didn't even realise until quite recently that Civ VI was inbound, so am pretty excited. Not sure whether my current laptop is going to run it though! I have a Lenovo Z500 which runs Civ V with no problems at all. Graphic card is GT635M (not that this means much to me!).
I could probably...
