As far as I know there's no direct way to fix it. At some point, patches to the game changed it. However I don't know which one, or if it was changed with the release of the conquests expansion.
However, I have found a sort of work around with the editor. For some reason, grassland can tern...
lol I love fortresses and barricades in the late game. Usually at that point i'm no longer expanding, but just dominating the global landscape. So I'll often make an 'Iron curtain' or two to block off the enemy from my over seas holdings.
The AI only respawn if there is a large amount of unclaimed territory, so it only works for AI destroyed really early in the game. If there's not they will never respawn, as they must respawn immediately. However if you wipe out a large area and THEN destroy someone, they'll respawn. Basically...
I had taken this into account. My cities all had over 100 'triangles' in them so as to have a massive effect. I also began by detonating 50 nukes to quickly max out the effect. My problem now is that grasslands, tundra, plains, and marsh will not decay into one another, they will only decay into...
Update:
I did another round of tests. Turns out I get grasslands to turn into mountains, but not grasslands into plains. Desert grasslands and plains will not change into each other or coast. However grasslands can turn into mountains. WTH?
But this never occurred. I created 2 scenario once, one that test just pollution on the ground everwhere, and the other with nukes and pollution at ridiuclous levels in cities (100 units of it per city that cover the entire map). Global warming only changed the forest and jungle tiles, and the...
The civilopedia says pollution (the orange mess on the ground) will change the tiles if left too long, going from grasslands to plains, to desert. Yet that never happens.
Global warming only removes forests nothing else.
Yet its my understanding that it used to do more? Is there an update...
Ugh you need more universities then that. The extra unit or two want help you if you're already behind on defense. And if you aren't behind, then the extra unit or 2 wont matter. Compared to getting to that next tech faster, and producing better units, its not as useful.
No you can't. The scientific age doesn't work. It'll make it shorter, then stay at 1 until the normal time is up.
You use it by bringing it to the city that's building what you want for example the Great Wall. Then you click that button that pops up in the unit actions bar and rush the...
I personally try an avoid destroying civs. So when I'm invading I focus on what ever territorial goals I have, then on ravaging the economy. I take a similar approach after I've destroy them as sea but I keep my forces more condensed.
The only thing that sux about the Dromon is balance issues. Literally there's nothing to compete with it until frigates. And the bombardment give plenty of people an unfair advantage. I like it, but I wish it wasn't so one sided.
