Installing Mods on Civ5 for Mac

Thanks Alan! I haven't posted much over the years, but each time I have to ask a question in this forum, I think you've always been there to help with the answer. :) Yes, I have the Steam edition (well I got it from a code from a Mac retail box which even though somewhere on Steam I think it...

Is there a good mod to make later eras go faster?

Thanks, Nutty. Yes, the time victory happening too early or too late was what I was worried about too, but maybe if I play around and find what I like and how long that normally takes, I can just choose "end game at x turns" option too to even it with the eras and I think(?) that that will...

Installing Mods on Civ5 for Mac

Hi, this is all very confusing for me trying to read through, so let me just ask it: I've never used mods before but am interested in the "Dynamic Eras" one. It looks like I can't download it? It tells me to subscribe to download and after I subscribe there seems to be no possibility of...

Is there a good mod to make later eras go faster?

Wow, that looks very interesting, thanks. Can it be that it was just created a week or so ago? That'd be so ironic because I've been wanting something like this for awhile now, and it's just funny that I'd happen to ask for it only a week after it was actually created, it would be...

Is there a good mod to make later eras go faster?

I hope this is the right forum for this question - I love Civ but one thing I've found I dislike is how long later eras take. I love taking a long time at the beginning and middle when exploring and expanding and such, and wars then are much easier because of fewer units. But at the end...

    Seaside start a disadvantage?

I love starting on the sea. In fact, unless I purposely choose an all land map, I'm always hoping to start by the sea. Maybe it is less strategically better, I don't know, but I just like it better. I feel like it makes the game funner. It's also cool if I just start somewhere near the sea...

turn 60 2 AIs who i had DOF DOW me

Wow, this makes so much sense and I've never thought of it, and it answers something that had me confused at this very moment in my current game. This current game is my first as Boudica (lol I still want to spell it as Boadicea), and I'm still in the beginning stages (archers, warriors) on...

    Road questions

    1. If the city-state is close enough, I almost always build the road to them if they ask for it for the influence boost, but then after that, unless they are like between parts of my civ, the roads become useless and just cost money the rest of the game. I think in Civ IV if you connect roads...

How did another civ win a space victory when I captured his Apollo program?

Oh heck no. Ghandi would be much better. He has two types of units that are useful and a unique ability that is useful. Longbows alone do not equal that at all. And this wasn't pangaea. This was the Great Plains map, where the map was closed (no round world east to west) and basically all...

How did another civ win a space victory when I captured his Apollo program?

OK, Elizabeth didn't give "absolutely" no perks, but close enough. She was definitely the worst leader the system could've given me and gave me *almost* absolutely no perks. And btw, it was vanilla, so her only perk for this game was the longbows.

I just bought Civ IV on Steam, and problems...

The 75% off deal was really too good and made it all extremely cheap. I had it before, but never on Steam and haven't had it on my computer since Civ V. One weird thing though is that Steam lists all the games separately in the library, while for Civ V, it's altogether just under "Civ V"...

    Civilization V 24 h sale on Steam: 75% off - offer expired

Nope, the sale ended, about an hour and a half ago from this post, and almost an hour ago (55 minutes) from your post. You were probably registering when the sale ended.

How did another civ win a space victory when I captured his Apollo program?

By the way, on this game I discovered that the Civ V generator has a sense of humour. I chose Great Plains, an almost all-land map, and then selected "random leader". It gave me Elizabeth, of course. So I had absolutely no useful leader/civ perks this game. The AI space victory is...

How did another civ win a space victory when I captured his Apollo program?

Yep, Hiawatha, and no, no random personalities. I was playing on a weird map though - the Great Plains closed landlocked world. Just thought I'd try it out as I usually like the more normal ones with oceans and such. He got really lucky though. I was purposely going for time victory to...

Civilization V: Gold Edition coming soon

Thanks for the link Shadow717. I took a chance on the Gold Edition upgrade and it does include everything including Gods and Kings. So with the 75% off the already cheap upgrade cost, I went from vanilla with no dlc to everything so far for a ridiculously cheap price!
