    In the latest svn the arboratum produces +20 food probaly because it produces 1 for each building it replaces but a lot of those are limited buildings requiring a special resources(silk+ a second resource) while the arboretum can be built anywhere.

    You seem to have a lot of gold both as income and in your treasury. you can buy multiple units in a single turn by selecting one buying him and then selecting the next one. As long as all that you bought are at the top of the queue they get build in a single turn.

    I am still using them despite their low strength, they are one of the first units that can reduce city defenses without needing to win an attack to survive and can be healed with the same healers the rest of the siege stack(often at that point swordsmen). But they never attack till the point...

    Is the option on where you get research from other players? If that is the case one of them might have researched the tech giving you a boost from that or even settled a city making him strong enough you get research boost from him.

    The spawn values are for the initial creation for barbarians once they have a city they start to use its production for more units.
