This is what I did too and it has worked. I put it up to some ungodly number of like 60,000 turns though just to make it unlimited lol.

So in the GameSpeedInfo.xml what exactly am I editing so there is no 500 turn limit on marathon game setting (despite unchecking time victory before starting the game)?
