As the old thread is closed, just the solution to my problem: I've bought the new graphics card, namely GeForce 8500 (512 Mb DDR2), and it works like a charm! Seems that my old card (Ati X800GT 256 Mb) couldn't cope with CIV IV and Vista at the same time... Horrifying. SF

As that patch is usually used to put the pirated versions of the game to work, (almost) any mention of it is forbidden here. Google it. That's all one can say on that matter. SF

Actually, I happen to like Vista! Everything (except CIV) is working fine - just like XP, or even better... It is CIV that's giving me a headache... :( SF
