Came in to say just this. Since my first couple playthroughs I've turned off the quotes on the audio because they're just too insipid.

I never made it very far on this one. Gave up on turn 285 as I was down to three cities at the southern tip of South America and Brazil didn't seem in any hurry to put me out of my misery.

Lost on turn 277, frustrating as I'd thought/hoped I was done losing at Prince level. I thought I was cruising along toward the win but Ludwig completely blindsided me, suddenly winning a Cultural Victory which he hadn't been particularly close to when I'd last checked only a couple dozen turns...

Whew, Diplomatic Victory on turn 383, beating the deadline by four minutes if I were on the West Coast! Egypt never really went anywhere so I gobbled up Ra-Kedet early on, which turned out to be my best city. Other than that I stayed friends with everyone all game.

I'm trying to move up to Emperor level, and so far I have one loss (Maya) and three wins (Kongo twice and Japan)...but in all three of the wins I was going for a scientific or cultural victory and wound up winning diplomatically without having made any special effort to do so until the very end...

I'm on turn 59 of a game as Kongo, and I just noticed that a Scout (of mine) has suddenly appeared in one of my city centers. I never build Scouts, and I know I didn't accidentally build this one, because that city is still in the middle of its build cycle. Any idea what would cause this to...

Obviously this is very dependent on context, but say I'm going for some non-domination victory, have 10-12 cities and aren't planning to attack anyone. About how many units should I have to be able to deter the AIs from attacking me? How concerned should I be about keeping my units relatively up...

Question: On the Overall World Rankings screen, if nobody has captured a foreign capital, players are ranked in the Domination category by a "domination score". What, if anything, does this mean? I have found it to be unreliable as a measure of who can and can't be safely attacked. It seems like...

OK, problem resolved, got notification, made move.

I tried it twice (first time on Deity) and got wrecked by the Mayans around turn 200 both times.

ARGH! I knew I shouldn't have signed up for that damn 2K account to get Caesar! Now it's telling me I can't play multiplayer because the age on my account is too young (my birthyear is 1968). It's telling me to contact customer service, but it won't let me log into the customer service port...

OK, I just signed up! This will be my first online game. In single pIayer have about 1000 hours in, and have beaten Emperor a couple times.
