Yes I'm at war with them, does that mean I can't sign with my trading countries unless they're in war, and they instigate it?

On the terrain my city is on, they discovered a heavy source of material (starts with s). How do I get this source? I can't build a mine on it!

How do I transport my settlers?

My advisors want me to build a hospital, but where can I get the option? Which tech must I study?

I'm not surrounded by them, I have run out of space to irrigate the land. I've many cities (about 7-8?) on a single 1/2 continent, and all other land around my city is irrigated. I've simply run out of land for irrigation (near the city). Also, I'm running a Republic government, if this affects. :)

But what if I have no space for irrigation and I'm not able to build railroads? (when will I have them?)

Sorry, but I'm a n00b, and I was wondering how could I increase food production. I used to irrigate my land but I'm running out of space for it. Also, may I know how to harvest the wheat? What do I build on it?
