Why is Korea, of all civs, constantly portrayed as super science civ in civ series?

All countries that have survived the centuries have had decisive victories against invaders. In general though, I think the consensus is that Korean leadership was quite poor, resulting in situations like the Imjin war where smaller numbers of Japanese completely dominated on land. I don't think...

    Democracy VS Communism?

I don't think people advocate systems that are bad in theory. Regardless of your political position, communism being a viable choice makes for a better game.

Why is Korea, of all civs, constantly portrayed as super science civ in civ series?

While yes, it seems weird to characterize Korea as a scientific superpower, what else would you classify them as? All countries must have some sort of specialty in this game. Military? Korea is not known for its military prowess. Cultural? Asides from 21st century pop culture, Korea's cultural...

    Ad Victoriam

Hey, thanks for the mod. It breathed life into the game. I just finished a whole game, and there were a few bugs. I do have a decent amount of mods but the only mods that affect gameplay is this and Religion Expanded. Late game, China seemed to have 7 promotions on every single unit. Diety...

    Detailed Worlds

Will you ever get around to working on Fractal? I'll try continents out right now regardless. BTW I loved your FfH map script! Brings back memories.

Improved Water Yields **Summer 2017 Update**

One of Quo's mods gives an adjacency bonus of 2 food 1 gold to tiles surrounding them. You can give that a try. Also, is anybody having issues with this mod post patch? When I start a game with this, the game says "Starting" then goes right back to the main menu. No crashes or anything. I...

So, which Evil Ruler Mods do we want first?

Lets be real folks, Obama Hillary Trump etc don't even come close. That kind of political stuff doesnt belong on this forum. But Timur would be cool. I'd like to see him go up againt Genghis.

    AI+

It doesnt seem like the AI is valuing fresh water highly enough still. In my game there are countless settlements just a single tile from a source of water, even though they have gained nothing from settling there instead.

Mod that rings a bell after the AI has finished moving.

"I hope you dont hate me guys" ahaha Thats a really good idea and afaik there isn't anything like that yet. Nobody is going to hate on you. It's not like you are demanding somebody to change tech criteria or something rudimentary like that. Now that I think about it, I could've sworn the...

    YnAMP - Development thread

Great job on the map! Your maps have always been a bit too large for me but its beautiful and more fun than any of the vanilla maps so far. I'd like to give balance feedback if thats needed. There are huge production issues with the middle east in the Europe map. Particularly Egypt and Arabia...

Quo's Pre-Patch Tile Yield and Building Cost Adjuster

Thank you! Changing the XML files in assets didnt do anything so this is a life saver.

AI Friend Negotiated Peace on My Behalf

Nicely put. The great moments in civ come from situations that seem dire. In a memorable CP game earlier this year, I got backstabbed by Genghis and he took several key cities while I was waging war with somebody else. The warscore would've indicated that he was winning fairly hard. Not once...

    Mississippi civilization

Doubling Rome at its lowest point in history isnt much of an accomplishment. IIRC they were quite similar to pre bronze civilizations in Mesopotamia, and stagnated as weather patterns changed. By the time the Europeans arrived, their old cities were long gone to dust. Though they might be a...

My take on why Civ 6 will be a bad game, a 3 pt. podcast

Couldn't much of your frustration with Civ 5 be addressed by playing multiplayer? If so, I think that indicates that the depth of Civ 5 (and possibly Civ 6) is bottlenecked by bad AI, not the game itself, particularly when it comes to 1upt combat and atrocious diplomacy. I think the only reason...

Things I hoped would be gone from Civ5

Like mentioned previously, I really disliked how city states took up so much room and prevented me from building a nation the way I want. Instead, it would have been cool if city states were associated with a certain area, so that any city built there is associated with that independent state...
