Why do automated workers take down mines and irrigate the land? Are they obsessed with growing the population?

gamespot reviewers (i think) said that it was a major disappointment......does anyone know the reasoning behind this? im still reluctant to get it.....but i assume if im writing on this forum with people answering......i should trust other gamers than some noname reviewer..

the intel section civfanatics have favorite/shunned government for each civ.........does this actually play a role in the game? do the workers work harder, less corruption, etc.? thanks in advance

I cant quote any strange rulers, but ive seen many posts on this site about the rulers saying strange lines.......something about a soccer ball or something.......how did you get these lines? I just want to do this for the heck of it......thanks in advance

how do you place embassies further into a game? when i researched writing, i got the embassies with everyone i knew. when i met other civs, i didnt make any embassies yet, but now that i want to, how do it do it? I cant seem to get the option to when i right-click on one of my cities.....

thats what i thought too.....but its still true that ansars are overpowered.......50 cost shields would be one of the biggest fears in the game.....literally, swarmed......ouch......nothing could stop them

how do you get owned?: do they run you over with troops? do they expand into your territory? do they culture flip you? do they leave you behind in the tech dust? it generally depends on what the problem is. if youre stuck with all of the above, then you should start low, and be agressive...

come on......mongols without the ability for hardcore pillaging? that ruins half the fun. Ansars ARE overpowered: if you look at the Riders, they have a 4.3.3, and cost 10shields more than a regular knight. but ansars are suped up knights and cost less? geez. I say: make Ansars longer to train...

too bad they didnt bump up the keshik's attack by 1. if it were 5.2.2. then they would be a crazy shock troop. go in, pillage, and run or get slaughtered. I dont remember them wearing armour, but i do remember them covering large areas and doing damage. Maybe they should be 5.2.3

Ive noticed that many people dont talk about mongols and their UU. whats wrong with them? those are cheap shock troops. just stay on the attack and you should be fine. 4.2.2. isnt that bad.....just their expansionist trait sucks, but it is necessary. AND they can cross mountains like they were...

The game would be insane if you had to deal with internal affairs: imagine dealing with the French Revolution!! So i guess they would push you towards conflicts. At least Civ3 doesnt have religious conflicts, and arranging marriages to foreign princes to improve relations. Youre stuck trading...
