First post in FFH forums, although have been playing it for about a year...hopefully I can help get rid of the question mark beside the sidar bonuses in the known bug list. :)
In the likely event you don't feel like reading my excessive verbage, skip to the conclusion. That's the good bit...
I am playing on this map as china, and managed to build the great wall. I thought this was pretty cool, seeing as the great wall is 'the only man(sic)-made object visible from space' (or, at least is was when i was in high school)
So the position is a bit off...:D If you can't find...
You're not crazy...i saw the exact same thing in my current game. (Almost the same game too: fractal map, standard settings).
Maybe i haven't been paying attention, but i thought it was a little strange myself. Although i have noticed that flood plains seem fragile. ie. if you raze a city...
Great thread, and i'm thankful for the fantastic analysis by the OP and others.
I've usually grown to size 2 before producing my first worker. On the basis of this thread, i'm believe i am going to try the worker first on my next game.

i very well couldn't claim the title 'back-patter and motivator extraordinaire' if i couldn't remember all those neat little things, could i?
Nice work! that will definitly top my Hall of Fame!
My 1st conquest victory too, and also my first Monarch win.

It was definitly an great team effort.

Good thing i don't plan on letting it last long.
