Actually, with Montezuma being obsessed with having more luxury resources than everyone else, it seems very reasonable that some unannounced Civ will have an agenda revolving around great works/relics/artifacts in a similar fashion.
That's an important one and the answer is yes. Just like chopping down forests or jungle outside of your borders, it will still lend a boost to the nearest city when harvested. This lets you strip nearby resources which you may already have a copy of, deny them to a nearby rival Civ, and I...
I really like this idea. I was thinking the game should have all the regular demographics info, but, that info would only update when you have a spy successfully perform an "intel" operation in rival Civ territory. Maybe, to make the mechanic a little more interesting and worthwhile, that...
Just to clarify what I was thinking:
Civs having a tendancy to start near particular resources doesn't seem like a bad thing.
I got the impression OP was suggesting, for instance, the French get additional happiness from wine that other Civs wouldn't get, or Arabia gets additional production...
At first glance, this seems like a good enough idea, but, I think it would end up putting too much power into the hands of the initial dice roll - that is; your start location and where resources spawn. Someone is going to get a great deal out of that while someone else is going to get...
Ed Beach heavily implied in a very early interview that canals would be incorporated into the game in some way, but we haven't heard a single word about it since then and no-one has asked about it either. Why? Where are my canals?
I completely agree with this. I thought it would've been a great idea to at least give border growth a bias towards expanding in the direction of your nearest city, or to either make tiles cheaper to purchase the closer they are to another city of yours and/or have those tiles require fewer...
Nobody has gone into great depth on great works yet, but that seems highly likely. Since great works are receiving more attention now than in Civ V & can be bought/sold/traded or outright stolen by spies, it seems most reasonable that they will now benefit more than just X-amount of culture per...
