How do you rename city states?

So it's as simple as that? Can I replace your "Wales" by any other description I'd like?

HOW TO: add/remove custom civs and city states from an existing map using WB

Do you know any good CS mods? Any suggestions? thx already I already have Kael's guide (printed the entire pdf) but I'm still struggling to get into it. I considered simply changing the names with wordpad but I guess it would corrupt the files... I'll try your instructions on top of this...

How do you rename city states?

Correct, I experienced the very same thing. It needs to be modded. But I don't feel confident enough about XML editing, so I'll just look around a bit more...

How do you rename city states?

Is it really possible to do this through worldbuilder? I thought renaming city states could only be done through XML editor (which I haven't totally figured out yet). I'm trying to add the likes of Carthage, Inca, Maya, Aztec etc as city states to a real world map.

Does anyone here know how to rename city states? I have no problem working with the worldbuilder, but I'm still struggling with the XML editor... Is it OK to simply change the names in the minorcivs file? I guess not  I've made some adjustments on a real world map but I'd like to...

    Renaming/modding city states

Does anyone know how to rename city states? I'm currently reworking Rhye's Earth map in the Worldbuilder (old world civs with correct starting locations), and I was wondering whether I could change the city states. I want to add some minor but historically significant civs as city states (Maya...

Brussels is the capital of Europe ;) But you do have a point Joris :) Actually I've been renaming many city states by creating cities in the worldbuilder for all respective city states and then renaming them (cities like Chichen Itza or Tenochtitlan etc). But in game the orginal city state...

you need to tick the 'start as scenario' button when starting your game! if not, all civs will start on random locations

Rhyes Civ 4 map converted and adjusted

personally I deleted almost all city states because Europe was way too crowded, so that the civs had at least some space to build new cities. I also reorganized the team numbers to avoid mixups. Still quite early in the game (i play on marathon level) but no crashes or bugs so far. I also...

@JEELEN: which download did you use for your 'crashless' game? and did you make any modification before playing? I'm really happy someone already converted Rhye's map, as the RFC mod is the only way I ever played CIV4! (and I played it A LOT)
