I can't speak for everyone, but for me it was a change in the Founding Fathers mechanic. In the original, you wanted to generate as many "liberty bells" as possible to gain FFs, but doing so in the IV version just made the crown build up its Royal Expeditionary Forces. This make sense from a...
If I am understanding you correctly, I think that you want the grids turned back on. Ctrl+t will do that for you.
Actually I think it is Ctrl+Y to toggle the yields is what you need.
The main reason Civ IV is better than V or VI is you don't need Steam to play it.
Can we please stick to game play issues and not get into the STEAM debate. leif
When moving a save game file from one PC to another has any one found that it changes the leaders for all of the Civs? For example, I went from Kublai Khan of the Mongols to Abe Lincoln of the Mongols. The other civs switched as well.
I found that Archipelago maps using the "snaky continents" parameter make maps that don't have that blobby effect. They are also pretty random like fractal. Sometimes a Pangaea type continent with some smaller islands and sometimes several smaller continents.
Checkout the really useful map...
There are two things I would change, but they are related, so I guess it really is just one thing. Sometimes when you use the feature that automatically upgrade all of your planets to a new planetary shield level or upgrade to fertile/gaia, after the upgrade is complete the the allocation bars...

Not entirely true: copper doubles production of some wonders/projects/buildings. Also, it comes sooner.
I'll vote for whale, because of the short lifespan. As far as the production bonus goes, I have never had whale in my BFS.
