I finally got it. I'll keep seeding it whenever I happen to have my computer on and a Bittorrent client open, which is much too often.

Try installing the patch from the Take2 Germany site that is listed on the front page of Civfanatics. That worked for me. I no longer got the CRC error, and now I have an interface.

Yes, I did the exact same thing. The file I downloaded from Civfanatics gave me the CRC error (of course the download may have had a problem, rather than the file itself...), and apparently caused me to be without an interface in-game. Downloading the patch from the Take2 Germany site also...
